“Believe in” is the phrasal verb to use when talking about one’s belief and acceptance of a certain concept or even person:
e.g. I know Naruto can defeat his enemies to become Hokage of his village—I believe in him!
在讨论别人坚信及接纳某类意识、乃至是某一人的情况下，「believe in」这一动词词组就可以大展身手。
例：我明白鸣人能够击败对手，而变成村庄里的火影忍者───相信他！
On the other hand, to simply “believe”—as opposed to believe in—someone is to trust his/her words regarding something:
e.g. I believe Naruto when he says that he’ll bring Sasuke back.
另一方面，如果是单纯性地「believe」而不是 believe「in」别人，则就是指信赖他针对某件事的叫法：
例：相信鸣人常说，他会把佐助给带回家。
When asking a friend if she thinks that ghosts truly exist, in other words, we should use the question: Do you believe in ghosts? Note that “ghosts” is plural because we’re asking about all ghosts, not just one.
也就是说，当了解盆友是不是觉得真的有鬼时，
大家应当那么问：Do you believe in ghosts?。
要留意的是，「ghosts」是复数，
由于大家问的是全部的鬼，而不只是一个鬼。
