The key method of lean startup is to eliminate unnecessary cost associated with internal production processes and decisions. Which in our case we would apply MVP (Minimum viable product) method to achieve.
Based on our product design, the MVP has to be able to test both the feasibility of our product. and the user experience from out targeted customer. With minimal cost for quick pivot.
The feasibility of the product would be focused on the scanning of the room, recreation of roads with AR. The car controlling system as well as its interaction with the roads inside the AR environment. and feedback system to detect if the right response is given based on car’s movement. 代考项目管理考试
To test these aspects, our first minimal viable product includes the blue tooth-controlled car itself. And a test version of software to scan the room and generate straight roads only. The feedback system would only test if the car has been driven out of the designed road area.
The idea is to test the link between AR technology and physical car to see if these key functions perform properly. Without invest deeper into other functions. We will then slowly add new traffic control system and feedback into the whole system. Such as traffic lights, other virtual vehicles, or different road conditions.
The user experience would focus on how our customer feels about out product. And with MVP we can invite focus group including parents and their kids to experience the core function of our product. There feedback would be used to guide future pivots and enhance our product.
Agile estimating and Planning
We would plan out our project following the multilevel planning system. We would start from program level since the scope of this project would be to create a product aligning with our business strategy and portfolio.
At programming planning level, our product would be a stand-alone project focusing on digitalized innovation over company’s existing brick building models. As the first product in this program. We hope the successful launch of Mater Mind Magic would inspire future digitalized product connecting to existing physical models.
At release level planning, we would start with a rough plan to be detailed in future development. Since our product is brand new and there will be uncertainty associated with initial estimating. Initial release planning would be divided into MVP, beta and official release, each represents a milestone in the development cycle. 代考项目管理考试
MVP release focuses on delivering the previously mentioned product with limited functions to test the core concept and collect customer feedback. While the beta release is to provide product with full function to selected group of users to find out bugs. Official release will happen after major bugs are fixed and functions are developed. For official launching of our product to the market.
During each release period, scrum team will decide their sprint plan to analyze and decompose backlog items into tasks to develop the product. And these tasks would be followed up in daily planning meeting to progress. At sprint planning and daily planning level. Estimating would first be made as rough plans, and adjust to detailed task list as the project progresses and uncertainty eliminates.
