After a few hours, a tropical depression, the initial stage of a typhoon forms. The hot air in the cumulonimbus clouds rises and the cold air around rushes in. And forms a tropical cyclone with little air at its centre. As this process repeats, the tropical depression continues to strengthen.

Typhoons are often powerful and they usually cause enormous damage to people’s property and threaten people’s lives, but by analysing how typhoons form we may know what to do when they occur and be safe. Firstly, a tropical cyclone appears over a warm expanse of ocean. When the temperature of the sea reaches over 80oF and its expanse is of a certain degree, a tropical cyclone would gradually form. Then, the strong wind pulls in moisture from the ocean, allowing the tropical cyclone to grow. Researches show that a link between global warming and the increasing number of typhoons exist, because global warming causes the global temperatures to rise and it creates an environment for typhoons to form.
